In compliance with the Heroes de la Libertad Bicentenary Plan, the Hercules joint stabilization and consolidation task force, in a joint, coordinated and inter-agency military operation with the National Navy, the National Police and the Attorney General's office, succeeded in finding and destroying an illegal cocaine production laboratory in the municipality of Bocas De Guandipa, Mosquera municipality, Nariño, which had a monthly production capacity of two tons of cocaine hydrochloride.
Guided by intelligence, troops of the Anti-Drug Trafficking Battalion no. 4 of the National Army, units of the Navy Battalion no.40, and members of the Technical Research Corps -CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the prosecution, were deployed to the area, where the illegal laboratory was and it was possible to find 900 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 240 kilograms of coca paste, more than 4,700 kilograms of solid precursors, 530 kilograms of liquid precursors, 1,080 gallons of gasoline, a semi-submarine with a capacity of two tons of storage and other precursors for the manufacture of the narcotic.
According to military intelligence, this complex had the capacity to produce two tons of narcotics on a monthly basis. With its dismantling is estimated damage in more than 31,000 million pesos to the finances of the residual organized armed group, GAO-r, Bloc Alfonso Cano, money that includes the cost of the illegal complex and the commercialization of the narcotic.
The laboratory and the precursors were destroyed under controlled conditions at the scene, under strict safety rules and keeping all measures for the preservation of the environment, under the supervision of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the prosecutor's Office.
This result damages the financial structure of this criminal organization, responsible for homicides, criminal acts and clashes with other structures due to drug trafficking.
