The minister of Defense, Diego Molano, said that all operations carried out by the Military Forces are being accompanied in strict compliance with national and international protocols.
"Where irregular acts have been committed in the service, of course, investigations have been opened by the Inspectorate of the National Police; we will continue to collaborate with the justice system. [People can be confident] that there justice is guaranteed and not to impunity," the minister explained.
The work of the police will continue to provide support in the security of Cali for its recovery and the dismantling of the blockade points "where extortion is generated and the mobility of inhabitants Cali and Valle del Cauca is stopped. Every day, the Military Forces, together with the police and the Army, tour the city, lifting blockades and are in the process of prosecuting the extortionists," Molano said.
The minister in the same way confirmed the continuity of the process of arresting and prosecuting those behind organized armed groups such as the ELN, through the ringleader alias Lerma and Jacobo, who participated in acts of vandalism and destruction that occurred in the city and in the same way exercise terrorism through social networks.
The head of the Ministry of Defense said that another of the fundamental purposes is to open the mobility and supply routes.
"In police operations, in joint work with the Army, progress was made in the recovery of mobility along the Pan-American highway in Buga. It has been a hard process because part these vandals seek to block a fundamental way for food," said the minister.
