The municipalities of the Orinoquía region permanently have a metal angel that during the day and night arrives with its wings of hope to serve those who need it most, on this occasion a baby a few days old in serious health conditions required urgent transfer in an aircraft of the Colombian Air Force.
“Thank you very much, I felt very comfortable on the flight with my son, sincerely very well assisted, too grateful to you,” said Deyanira Ramos, mother of the newborn upon arrival in Villavicencio, after about 2 hours of flight of the municipality of La Macarena, Meta, since her son had health difficulties, requiring the quick assistance of military medical personnel who received them in a C208B Caravan aircraft of the Air Combat Command No. 2
After the coordination carried out by the municipal authorities and the National Personnel Recovery Center, CENRP, permanent monitoring of vital signs, fluids and oxygen was provided during the flight, the members of the Colombian Air Force kept the mother stable with the baby until they arrived in the capital city of Meta, where an ambulance was waiting to transfer them to a higher-level care center.
Using different equipment such as night vision goggles, NVG, to reach territories that have unprepared airstrips, Colombian Air Force crews and aircraft have the resources to ensure the defense of communities, while we continue to save lives.
