In the framework of student academic mobility, two Midshipmen of the Naval Academy of Cadets 'Almirante Padilla', embarked on the USS Somerset, in a navigation that will last 21 days. The trip started in Valparaiso (Chile) and will end in San Diego (United States).
They are Brigadier Mateo Posso and Brigadier Juan Valderrama, who were selected for this group, thanks to their military and academic skills and knowledge of English as a second language.
During their embarkation, the Naval Officers of the future will receive instruction related to topics such as sea guards, electronic navigation, shooting exercises at sea, among others.
This activity is carried out thanks to the agreements made by the Navy of the Republic of Colombia with the US Navy, to strengthen their relations.
The Naval Academy of Cadets 'Almirante Padilla', as a naval academy and maritime university, is engaged to carry out internationalization activities that contribute to the comprehensive training of future officers and promote the national and international visibility of the Colombian Navy.
