As a result of the heavy rains of recent weeks, the road that leads from Villavicencio to El Calvario, in Meta, is closed due to landslides that obstacle land traffic, for this reason, a UH-60 Blackhawk helicopter of the Colombian Aerospace Force carried out the transport of basic necessities to solve the emergency in this municipality.
The National Risk and Disaster Management Unit, UNGRD sent the request to the Aerospace Force, immediately the Angel aircrew personnel of the Air Combat Command No. 2 proceeded to fulfill this important humanitarian mission that helps solve the crisis that about 2,000 inhabitants of this municipality are going through.
Thanks to the various resources of this helicopter, it is possible to get to this hard to reach place due to its geography, which is found almost 2,000 meters above sea level, the terrain is very unstable and the meteorological conditions are rainy most of the time.
In the same way, accompanied by of Military Engineers of the National Army and officials of the UNGRD, a reconnaissance flight was carried out to the access roads to the municipality to carry out a contingency plan to mitigate the blows to the inhabitants who has already completed more than two weeks without communication by land.
