A member of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, surrendered voluntarily to military personnel of the Colombian Navy in the Department of Antioquia.
Thanks to the operation of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.17 in this region of the country, alias “Fabio”, who was part of the GAO Clan del Golfo for 12 years, surrendered to the crew of a river Combat Element in the Port Jobo, in rural area of the municipality of Zaragoza, Antioquia.
At the time of his presentation, this individual, who apparently served as the squad ringleader of the Francisco Morelos Peñata, a gang of the criminal organization, he gave an AK-47 rifle, two magazines, 148 cartridges caliber 5.56 MM and a multipurpose vest.
The man was taken to the premises of the Special Energy and roads Battalion No.5-BAEEV-5 of the National Army in the municipality of El Bagre, Antioquia, where he proceeded to submit to justice before the specialized prosecutor's Office 79 of Caucasia-Antioquia.
