This project of the Colombian Navy and the University of Santo Tomás, analyzes in detail the social, political, economic and military context of the Pacific region, as a result of the armed conflict.
About 200 people attended the protocol events, cultural exhibitions and discussions of the project were launched at the regional level.

Thanks to an important coordination conducted by the Colombian Navy and the Santo Tomás University, the important research project with high academic rigor Pacífico: “Resilience and Truth” was shown to the authorities and communities of the Pacific region, victims of the internal armed conflict.
At the facilities of the Authorities of Puerto de Buenaventura - Valle del Cauca and Tumaco - Nariño, respectively, two talks were held where military and police authorities, leaders of the regions, singers, civilian victims and people in general, shared their life stories and some events that occurred from 1985 to 2016, in which International Humanitarian Law - IHL was violated or serious violations of Human Rights were evidenced.
Project “Pacifico: resilience and truth”
As part of this important project, five context documentaries were made, which make visible the fundamental operation of the men and women of the Colombian Navy in their unarmed work and evidence the inter-institutional work related to peace and resilience, the construction of social fabric, stories, testimonies and songs that heal the soul of those who were beaten, dignifying and recognizing civilians and members of the Military Forces, victims of the armed conflict in the Colombian Pacific.
In addition, an academic book, a research article and an opinion article were prepared, which constitute a significant contribution to the search for the truth.
The Colombian Navy, through the Directorate of Support for the Transition of the Legal Headquarters, will continue to carry out and participate in research projects, which make visible the contributions to the clarification of the truth in the areas of responsibility of the military operation of the Naval Institution and lead to the construction of the country.
