Five gas cylinder-type launching pads were destroyed by National Army troops. Apparently they were planted by illegal armed groups that commit crimes in the west of Vaupés
Soldiers of the Rainforest Battalion No.52 General José Dolores Solano, of the Thirty-First Brigade, found and neutralize means of launching explosives intended to attack the soldiers and the inhabitants who were in the surroundings of the urban area of the municipality of Caruru. The troops were alerted by the community, which transits through the sector.
During this operation, one kilogram of black powder, three pairs of AA batteries, three 9 volt batteries wrapped in black tape, five shrapnel tubes, a mine body and a GPS were found by troops; it should be noted that this improvised explosive device was neutralized in controlled conditions.
