The individuals had infiltrated different companies in the department of Putumayo, where they would have been safely transporting the products of drug trafficking.
Thanks to intelligence work carried out by soldiers of the Twenty-Seventh Brigade of the Sixth Division of the National Army, in a joint operation coordinated with the National Police, they were able on the weekend to capture 12 individuals reported to be members of the Residual Organized Armed Group (GAO-r) Estructura 48.
The military operation was carried out in the municipalities of Orito and La Hormiga, in the department of Putumayo. These individuals would have been in charge of obtaining supplies for the production of coca based paste. Thus was possible to strike a heavy blow to the drug trafficking chain in the department. The individuals had a current arrest warrant for the crimes of seizing and receiving fuels and association to commit crimes.
Those captured were placed into custody of the Attorney General's Office, which determined a custodial measure.
On the other hand, in one of the raids, a coca based paste laboratory was found and destroyed. There was found 600 kilograms of coca leaf, 240 gallons of coca leaf in process, 220 gallons of processed gasoline, 40 gallons of gasoline, 25 kilograms of lime, 50 kilograms of urea, a scale, two tanks of 1,000 liters, and other liquid and solid supplies.
The material found was put into custody of the authorities for their respective judicial process.
It is noteworthy that, in the past eight days, an improvised explosive device was deactivated, solid supplies were found, four coca bush nurseries were destroyed and 13 laboratories for the production of coca paste were destroyed.
