More than 20 tons of humanitarian aid arrived at LC Benjamin Mendez Rey Air Base, in the archipelago of San Andrés, Providencia and Santa Catalina, where military personnel carried out the unloading of food arriving on the island, continuing with operational efforts in response to the health emergency by COVID-19.
For more than two hours of flight, the aircraft Jupiter Boeing KC 767 flew with the aim of fulfilling the mission entrusted by the National Government, whose humanitarian aid is directed through the program ‘Ayudar nosh ace bien’ (Help makes us well) led by the First Lady, María Juliana Ruíz Sandoval, a mission which has the support of the Fundación Solidaridad por Colombia (Solidarity for Colombia Foundation).
This humanitarian aid will be distributed by the department's government agencies and non-profit organizations.
