The Joint Strategic Transition Command, (CCOET, in Spanish) has been categorized as a global benchmark and is the military component of technical participation in environments of ending of armed conflicts, as well as a central axis for the preservation of the legitimacy and institutional legal security of the military forces.
For six years, this Strategic Command has worked tirelessly for the clarification of the truth, special justice for peace, the search for missing persons, the historical memory of the country and each of the systems that accompany it to ensure truth, justice, reparation and non-repetition after the signing of the peace agreements.
With a virtual ceremony presided over by major general Jorge León González Parra, chief of the Joint staff of the Military Forces, and following all biosecurity protocols for COVID-19, granted the medal ‘Faith in the Cause’ and ‘Marco Fidel Suarez’ to the Flag of War of the Joint Strategic Transition Command and granted the decoration of this unit to military and civilian personnel in recognition of their effort and commitment in the permanent work in this command.
CCOET will continue to focus its efforts on the generation of knowledge towards the end of armed conflicts for the stabilization and consolidation of the territory, dignifying and recognizing the military and their relatives, victims of armed conflicts. In the same way, the contribution of processes of construction of institutional Historical Memory guarantee the protection of institutional legitimacy and legal security of the Military Forces, starting at the experience of their participation, from beginning to end, in the dialogues, and the implementation of the peace agreement with the former armed group Farc-EP.
