The General Command of the Colombian Military Forces created the Strategic Transition Command (COET) in 2014. This joint military unit is made up of men and women of the National Army, the Colombian Navy and the Colombian Air Force, in order to carry out the transition lines in relation to the Peace Agreement signed by the National Government and the extinct FARC in November 2016.
Thus, the Strategic Joint Transition Command has been the node of coordination conducted by the Military Forces and the Comprehensive System of Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-Repetition (SIVJRNR in Spanish), in particular with the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (JEP), the Truth Clarification Group (CEV), with the Search Unit for Missing Persons (UBPD) and with the Unit for Comprehensive Assistance and Reparation to Victims (UARIV).
In that sense, the recognition of the past leads us to look to the future. Being consistent, the CCOET and the Military Forces have distributed more than 70 reports to the mechanisms of the Comprehensive System of Truth, Justice, Reparation and Non-Repetition, which has been knowing through academic analysis about what happened in more than five decades of conflict.
The CCOET is in the same way an observatory and think tank to formulate negotiation models, confidence-building mechanisms, monitoring and the necessary measures within the moments of disarmament, demobilization and reintegration.
In the same way, the CCOET carries out all the activities and tasks within the framework of the construction of the Institutional Historical Memory and the formulation of the policy of the General Command of the Military Forces (COGFM) for the operation of the 11 military museums in Colombia, as well as the construction and lines of work in context.
To this anniversary, a military ceremony is planned on September 02, which will take place at the parades field of the Infantry School. This will be the propitious space for the recognition of a military and civilian personnel through the Distinguished Services Medal of the General Command of the Military Forces and the medal Fe in la causa.
