With 474 humanitarian workers, 15% of them foreigners, the ICRC is present in Colombia to promote protection and provide assistance to victims.
In the auditorium of the School of Human Rights, ESDAE, in the North military base of Bogotá, the Workshop on International Humanitarian Law and Communication Tools, conducted by the International Committee of the Red Cross, is being held, aimed at Security and Defense personnel and Military Forces, with the purpose of contributing to the updating and improvement of knowledge and skills in the field of IHL.
At its opening, the academic event featured speakers of the ICRC, who discussed topics such as the vision and mission of this organization, its operation in different countries, based on being humanitarian, neutral, independent and impartial.
In the same way, in this first activity, attendees and panelists spoke and contextualized issues such as the use of force in the framework of human rights and the armed conflict.
