This individual was traveling on the national highway that leads from Puerto Concordia to Villavicencio, Meta. The illegal substance would be valued at more than 550 million pesos.
In development of the Operation Jos茅 Inocencio Chinc谩, against the drug trade, and by working together with the National Navy, the Colombian Air Force and in coordination with the Intelligence Directorate of the National Police, in a control post over the national route that leads to the municipality of Puerto Concordia to Villavicencio, Meta, troops stopped a vehicle for an inspection on the area, as part of the security strategy carried out by the troops of the National Army in the south of the departments of Meta and Guaviare.
Through a search procedure, the van-type vehicle and its driver were inspected, when an unusual behavior was noticed, as well as an unusual modification made to the car, so it was taken to the police station of the municipality of San Jos茅 del Guaviare, for a detailed review.
In the review, 80 packages wrapped in plastic, marked as coffee, were found by troops. The authorities identified that these packages tested positive for cocaine hydrochloride, a substance that would cost them approximately 560 million pesos.
According to the authorities, the vehicle would be traveling from the department of Guaviare and was destined for the interior of the country.
The arrested man, as well as the vehicle and the material were put into custody of the authority.
