The arrested man had been in the structure for four years and among the murders attributed to him there is in the same way that of a trade union leader and a social leader.
In compliance with the Ayacucho Plan, troops of the Santander Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), of the Fifth Brigade, in coordination with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, arrested alias Commando Cris, alleged ringleader of the Edgar Madrid Benjumea Substructure, of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, who would in the same way be the author of the murder of the trade union leader Sibares Lamprea, which occurred in September of the previous year and of a social leader, in November of 2022.
The facts were reported in Bucaramanga, Santander, where the authorities, after several months of intelligence work, found the man arrested today, who must face charges for the crimes of aggravated homicide, manufacture, trafficking and carrying of firearms and ammunition and association to commit aggravated crimes for the purpose of homicide.
Alias Comando Cris, 24 years old, had been in the illegal organization for four years, and within his criminal operations he is responsible for total 24 murders perpetrated in the Barrancabermeja, Santander.
Similarly, the arrest of another individual was reported in Barrancabermeja, Santander, who allegedly provided detailed information on the union leader's routine that later was used by alias Comando Cris, in order to perpetrate the murder.
With his arrest, the criminal operations of this organization in the execution of selective homicides are struck and the ability to plan and execute armed operations against the Military Forces and civilians is neutralized, restoring tranquility to the Magdalena Medio region.
