A major joint, coordinated and inter-agency operation conducted by the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's office and the Corporation for the Sustainable Development of the South of the Amazonas, Corpoamazonia, which was conducted in the village Cristales of the municipality of San José del Fragua, in Caquetá, it was possible to finding and subsequently destroy four handmade engines used to carry out illegal mining.
Thanks to the investigative work in coordination with the prosecutor's office, the environmental institutions of the region are requested to study whether this land has any type of environmental permit. The result was that the sector did not having any environmental license management instrument for the exploitation of mining sites and other materials.
This type of missions continues to contribute to the planning and execution of important operations in the south-east of the country, combating environmental crimes that try to hit the ecosystem.
