As part of a joint maritime interception operation against drug trafficking, it was possible to find 2,682 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, in a coordinated effort conducted by the Colombian Aerospace Force, the Colombian Navy and the National Police.
With information provided by naval intelligence and air patrol of the Colombian Aerospace Force it was possible to detect a Go Fast type boat with four engines and crew on board, which when noticing the activity of the units of the Colombian Navy and air means started to escape leaving the sacks with the material to the sea.
This operation was carried out in the Caribbean Sea - to the northeast of the Archipelago of San Andr茅s, Providencia and Santa Catalina. The recovered material was put into custody of the authorities.
