The works correspond to refurbishment and physical adjustments of the Hospitalization Area level III and IV and the Electrophysiology Unit, which seeks to optimize times in medical procedures, strengthen the service.
The Vice Minister of National Defense for the GSED Defense Social and Business Group, Mr. Gonzalo Muñoz Arboleda and Major General, Clara Esperanza Galvis Díaz, Director of the Central Military Hospital (HOMIL), presided over the inauguration of the new works in the institution, which will benefit more than 700 thousand users of the Health Subsystem of the Colombian Military Forces and their families.
The works correspond to refurbishment and physical adjustments of the Hospitalization Area level III and IV and the Electrophysiology Unit, which seeks to optimize times in medical procedures, strengthen the service and improve the quality of life of patients.
With an investment of $ 857,661,502, pesos the Hospitalization Area level III and IV, will be able to attend about 200 patients per month, requiring hospitalization procedures, and specialized medical care.
The Electrophysiology Unit was designed with the objective of conducting surgical procedures of high cardiac complexity, managing to benefit more than 480 patients and external consultations and examinations of 7000 patients per year.
Together with these works, a Photo Gallery was in the same way built where the Historical Memory of the institution and its architectural and heritage value for our country stand out, which both patients and visitors of the institution can observe.
In the future, the Central Military Hospital will carry out the modernization of the Laboratory Sampling Area, adaptation of bathrooms in the Central Area of Medical Appointments, preparation of the Intermediate ICU (South Floor 8); the implementation of the Third Phase of Medicinal Gases; refurbishment of the Hospitalization Floor, expansions of the spaces of the Pediatric Emergency Area, Emergency Observation Area and Triage Waiting Room, among other works, which continue to project HOMIL, as an institution at the forefront of high-level hospital centers in the country.
