As a tribute to World Tree Day and in an impressive show of commitment to natural resources, the Colombian National Army will carry out this Friday, at 8:00 a.m., a historic reforestation activity during which more than 33 thousand trees will be planted simultaneously in one minute.
This event is being held in the departments of Meta, Huila, Tolima and Caquet谩, reaffirming the commitment of Colombian soldiers and various public and private institutions to nature conservation.
Reforestation will be carried out in multiple locations, including:
Meta
- Villavicencio: way to Apiay military base, way to La Vig铆a, Via Acac铆as Fundaci贸n Calidad.
- Acacias: Panorama, Bachu茅, Cimarr贸n, Dinamarca, Brisas del Guayuriba Village.
- San Mart铆n: Finca Las Milpas.
- Granada: El Para铆so Medio neighborhood in front of the new Hospital.
- Puerto Lleras: Loma Linda Lagoon.
- Mapirip谩n: Urban Area.
Tolima
- Ibagu茅.
- Chaparral.
- Algeciras.
- Planadas.
Caquet谩
- Florencia: Damas Abajo Village.
This massive reforestation work will not only contribute to the mitigation of the effects of climate change, but will in the same way promote the restoration of local ecosystems. The benefits will reach both human communities and the biodiversity that inhabits these regions. With this operation, Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to the protection and conservation of the country's fauna and flora.
The activity will be possible thanks to the Support and Comprehensive operation and Development Brigade No. 2 of Colombian National Army and the collaboration of various public and private institutions.
