With the military operations, it was possible to find 35 tons of cocaine hydrochloride and prevent the death of more than eight million people due to the consumption of these substances.
The National Army, in the continuous fight against drug trafficking and its various illicit activities, carried out joint, coordinated and inter-institutional military operations, in order to decisively hit the illicit finances of organized armed groups and transnational organized crime groups.
So far this year, it was possible to destroy in controlled conditions 27 laboratories of cocaine hydrochloride costing more than 13,000 million pesos. In the same way 35 tons of narcotics were destroyed that have a cost of more than 1,000 million dollars, this in the international market means the distribution of about 70,000 million doses for consumption, which means preventing the death of more eight million people.
In the same way, as part of the military operations, more than 80 structures destined for the production of coca paste base, valued at approximately 650 million pesos, were neutralized; with this intervention, more than 8,000 gallons of coca paste base were prevented from continuing the production cycle of cocaine hydrochloride, which has an approximate cost of more than 3500 million pesos.
It was in the same way possible to neutralize more than one million bushes in coca leaf seedlings, which represents about 160 hectares left unsown by illegal groups.
With these attacks on organized armed groups and transnational organized crime, and framed in respect for human rights and international humanitarian law, the soldiers of Colombia continue to contribute to the strengthening, security, protection of the life of Colombians and the peace of the national territory.
