During four joint operations conducted by the troops of the Colombian Navy and the National Army, attached to the Joint Task Force Aquiles, it was possible to find four rudimentary dredges and nine engines used for the illegal exploitation of mining deposits in the municipality of Nechí, Antioquia, which were put into custody of the authorities.
In consecutive operations near the Nechí River and the Cauca River, the authorities find this machinery whose value would amount to more than 1,200 million pesos,; this machine generated monthly income for illegal organizations exceeding 30 million pesos.
The finding occurred during search and river control operations, conducted by troops of the Colombian Navy and the National Army.
Among the material found by troops there were six gas cylinders used to enhance the capacity of the engines during the illegal extraction. The individuals, who used the machinery, escaped.
