In less than 72 hours, it was possible to arrest two alleged ringleaders of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo and the voluntary surrender of two members of the GAO ELN.
Three joint and coordinated operations carried out by units of the Colombian Navy and the National Army with the support of the National Police in the Departments of Antioquia and Choc贸, led to the arrest of a woman and an individual, accused of being ringleaders of the substructure H茅roes de Jes煤s Carretera of the GAO Clan del Golfo and the voluntary presentation of two alleged members of the Western war front N茅stor Tulio Dur谩n company of the GAO ELN.
The first operation took place in the municipality of Vig铆a del Fuerte, in the area of Urab谩 antioque帽o, where troops of the river Battalion of Navy Infantry No.16 and the Infantry Battalion No.12, in coordination with units of the National Police, arrested alias La Mona, alleged political ringleader of the substructure Heroes de Jes煤s Carretera of the GAO Clan del Golfo. The 29-year-old woman had an arrest warrant issued by the municipal Court of Quibd贸 for the crime of association to commit crimes.
Subsequently, in the municipality of Bojay谩, Department of Choc贸, thanks to the pressure of the troops guided by intelligence information, it was possible to obtain the surrender to troops of the National Army of two alleged members of the Western war front of the company N茅stor Tulio Dur谩n of the GAO ELN, who were put into custody of the authorities.
Finally, in the municipality of Villa Cont贸, in the area of the Atrato River in the Department of Choc贸, during a search operation and river control, it was possible to arrest alias Luis, alleged ringleader of area of the substructure Heroes de Jesus Carretera of the GAO Clan del Golfo. The 37-year-old man was required by the prosecutor's office No.11 of Quibd贸 for the crime of association to commit aggravated crimes.
