In a maritime interception operation carried out in the waters of the Colombian North Pacific zone, the Colombian Navy carried out the interception of two speedboats at the moment when they intended to cross into Central American waters, transporting more than half a ton of cocaine belonging to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, Structure 6, E-6, Mobile Column Jaime Mart铆nez.
The operation was carried out when a Rapid Reaction Unit of the Bah铆a Solano Coast Guard Station, which was conducting maritime control and security patrols in the department of Choc贸 department, detected two boats traveling at high speeds towards Panama. The individuals who manned the boats ignored the calls made by the authority, for which the maritime interception operation was launched and the arrests took place 50 nautical miles offshore.
During the inspection, the Coast Guard units detected modifications in the fiberglass hull of the boats, which led to the inference of the existence of illicit substances hidden under the double bottom modality.
The boats, along with a crew of four, were transported to the coast Guard Station Bahia Solano where, accompanied by of officials of the Technical Body of Research office of the Prosecutor, obtained the finding of 510 packets pressed, which contained 507 kilograms of cocaine, according to the test of the preliminary identification.
This cargo, which according to naval intelligence information had left the mouths of the Naya River, in the border area between the departments of Cauca and Valle del Cauca, would be trafficked for a cost exceeding 17 million dollars in the illegal international market, money that now will not enter the FARC dissident finances, group E-6, Mobile Column Jaime Martinez.
It is noteworthy that, in the last 70 days of sustained maritime operations, the Colombian Navy has found 4,352 kilograms of narcotics, in the northern area of the Colombian Pacific and border with Panama.
