The Colombian Air Force in compliance with the institutional commitment to the communities of the Cacao triangle, formed by the hamlets of Güerima, Chupave and Puerto Principe of the municipality of Cumaribo in the Alto Vichada region, carried out the transport of 3.5 tons of top quality Cacao, which correspond to the last harvest of the year 2020.
The cargo was transported from the villages of Güerima, in the department of Vichada, to the Air Command of Military Transport, CATAM, in Bogota, completing about 14 tons of Cacao transported during the year 2020, thereby contributing to the progress and peace of these territories of the national territory.
In parallel with this important mission, an activity of rapprochement with the community was carried out in Güerima. This activity was led by the Joint Task Force Ares in which different institutions of the State, Military Forces and the private companies participated, such as: the mayor of Cumaribo, National Army, military transport Air Command –CATAM-, the Air Combat Command No.2-CACOM No.2–, the Grupo aéreo del Oriente-GAORI -, the Foundation Corazón y Acción por Colombia, the Foundation Mauricio Alejandro Vélez Oviedo, the Mission INALDE, Club de Leones, the Casa Luker, Postobón S. A., the Association Nuestra Señora de Loreto, and the Company Optimal Hunters and Perla de Becker Bermúdez.
This activity benefited 243 families of the villages: Campo Alegre, Piñalito, San Carlos, UVA Alto, UVA Bajo, urban center of Güerima and Indigenous communities in this region.
The inhabitants received medical assistance among other services, with 306 patients assisted in the specialties of general medicine, pediatrics, gynecology, Optometry, ophthalmology and bacteriology. 29 bacteriology exams; 220 medicines and 95 glasses distributed. In the same way, training was carried out to 25 farmers, Cacao producers, by Casa Luker.
The beneficiary community in the same way received free of charge about 3,200 disposable facemasks, 50 bottles of antibacterial gel, 90 Toys for boys and girls, 29 family games, 243 food baskets, 600 water bottles and 55 grooming kits, among other items.
