This consisted of the distribution of high-tech equipment and social wellbeing material to the Twenty-Second Rainforest Brigade of the Army, to strengthen security, tranquility, progress and socio-economic development in the department.
Safeguarding the security and the totality of the territory in the department of Guaviare is of vital importance for the troops of Colombian National Army, based on the guidelines issued in the Ayacucho Campaign Plan. For this operation to benefit the communities in the territory, it is important to have the support of the civil authority that governance represents.
In a protocol ceremony, the governor of Guaviare, Yeison Rojas Mart铆nez, distributed high-tech equipment, including a closed circuit of cameras for surveillance, social wellbeing and recreation material for vulnerable inhabitants, computer equipment and drones equipped with mobile control units.
These resources will significantly improve military operations, surveillance and military intelligence, contributing to the protection of the inhabitants of the department. The unmanned aircraft, with high-precision cameras associated with artificial intelligence development implementations and extensive flight autonomy, are connected to an high tech surveillance system, which facilitates the recognition of terrain in rural areas and river roads, so they will be used in patrols, information gathering tasks and in some cases, participation in emergency events addressing and natural disasters. This will lead a timely response to risk situations, strengthening the fight against crime and protecting civilians.
During the ceremony, Governor Yeison Rojas Mart铆nez highlighted the importance and contribution of these teams to the department's security, "This joint work demonstrates our commitment to the safety and well-being of Guaviarenses."
For his part, Brigadier General Jaime Eduardo Torres Ram铆rez, commander of the 22nd Rainforest Brigade, said: "This endowment is essential to potentiate our human and technological resources."
