The construction was destroyed in controlled conditions according to established procedures.
Inside were found by troops more than 11 thousand gallons of liquid supplies and more than a ton of solid supplies.
During a river operation over the village of San José, municipality of Mosquera - Nariño, units of the Colombian Navy found a clandestine construction that would belong to the Residual Organized Armed Group Structura Alfonso Cano that would apparently be used for the production and packaging of cocaine hydrochloride.
The illegal laboratory, in an area of difficult access, was made of six rustic structures built with wooden boards and plastic bags, each with dimensions of up to 28 meters long and 16 meters wide, corresponding to the areas of cooking, preparation, drying, electric generator and accommodation, whose capacity would accommodate approximately 36 people.
Within this criminal complex, the troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No.41 found more than 11 thousand gallons of liquid supplies, including thinner, nitric acid, ammonia, acetone, gasoline and DIESEL. In the same way, 1.4 tons of solid precursors such as ammonium sulfate, activated charcoal, calcium chloride, caustic soda and lime were found by troops. It should be clarified that these chemicals used in the production of cocaine represent a serious risk to human health and the environment.
Finally, the navy destroyed a wide range of equipment such as compressors, distilleries, hydraulic presses and electric pumps, used for the production and packaging of the drug.
This finding hits the finances of the criminal organizations that planned to operate this laboratory, by more than 987 million pesos, significantly weakening their resources for the production and distribution of narcotics.
