A humanitarian aeromedical evacuation of a member of the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Eln, who was wounded by a firearm, was carried out by the crew of the UH-60 脕ngel helicopter of the Air Combat Command No.5, which was sent to the rural area of the Alto Baudo municipality, department of Choc贸.
This man, who committed crimes in the area under the alias Yoli, looked for a National Army Unit that provided him with first aid; however, air transport was required to transport him to a medical center in Quibd贸 where he received adequate treatment.
Acting within the protocols of International Humanitarian Law, the necessary care and protection was provided to the patient, who was monitored during the flight and given to medical personnel with stable vital signs.
In this way, the Air Force maintains the commitment to safeguard the good physical condition of all Colombians, without distinction, with the sole objective of preserving life, arriving with its aircraft to places of difficult access and assisting those in danger.
