At Barrancabermeja, Santander, these people would be members of the Second Marquetalia and responsible for several intimidations by extortion and others attacks against companies in the city.
In a coordinated operation, troops of the Santander Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) with the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the National Police, achieved the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of a minor, apparently members of the residual armed group, GAO-r, front 12 Isa铆as Pardo, of the Second Marquetalia.
The events were reported in Barrancabermeja, Santander, where through search warrants issued by the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to find these individuals who were in the same way found with important war material.
Among those arrested is alias Yeimer, a former member of the so called Central General Staff, who allegedly committed crimes in the Vichada department. These people would be responsible for intimidation for the collection of money from extortion against from companies, ranchers, merchants and other productive groups in the region and apparently, for launching an explosive device against a contractor company, on May 21 in the petroleum district.
Among the war material there were 3 AK-47 rifles, rifle magazines, 2 handguns, ammunition of different calibers, pamphlets, banners, bracelets alluding to the front 12 Isa铆as Pardo, money from extortion against collection vouchers and communications radios.
With these arrests, Colombian National Army continues to reaffirm its commitment to neutralize the criminal operations of armed groups that intend to enter Santander from other regions.
