During the operation of the Military Gaula of Tumaco of the Colombian Navy, weapons, ammunition and more than 28 kilos of narcotics were found by troops.
The Colombian Navy, in a joint work with Colombian National Army and coordinated with the Criminal Investigation Section - SIJÍN and the Police Intelligence Section - SIPOL of the National Police, arrested four alleged members of the Residual Organized Armed Group Iván Ríos Structure. This heavy blow took place during the execution of a search warrant on three properties in the village of Llorente, municipality of Tumaco - Nariño.
The men, aged 22, 25, 26 and 47, were caught in flagrante delicto with weapons and narcotics, including a revolver, a magic pistol, a shotgun and a fragmentation grenade, as well as 25 kilos of marijuana and three kilos of cocaine hydrochloride.
Those arrested, apparently, would be involved in illegal activities such as extortion against small merchants in the region and the collection of money from microtrafficking, which would strengthen this criminal structure, generating fear and insecurity in the area.
The individuals, along with the material found, were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office, for the alleged crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics and manufacturing, trafficking or illegal carrying of firearms, in accordance with the provisions of articles 376 and 365 of the Colombian Criminal Code.
