After the consolidation and stabilization of the Colombian territory, the National Army, in cooperation with the Jesuit University of Washington D.C. and Georgetown University, has the purpose of putting productive projects underway and provide the support to make the coffee produced in the municipality of Planadas, south of the department of Tolima, a success, creating opportunities for the communities of the region.
Due to the above, business specialists have arrived in the area who will work for two months to carried out strategies, give recommendations and establish international contacts to promote the export of coffee produced in Planadas.
"The market is willing to pay high prices for quality organic coffee, such as the one produced in Planadas; Starbucks and Whole Foods companies, which already have established infrastructure to access consumers, are actively looking for products such as those produced in Planadas, "said Sachin Nagrani, MD Family Medicine, BA in Washington D.C.
"The invitation is to take the voice, saying that Planadas is no longer a red zone, it is a quiet municipality," said Julieth Paola Villa, leader of women in Nagrani.
For its part, the Support Command for Comprehensive Action and Development with its Comprehensive Action Battalion No.5 will monitor the execution of the processes.
