In two operations against the problem of drug trafficking, the Colombian Navy dealt a new blow to criminal organizations with the finding of 154 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, in the department of Atl谩ntico.
The first operation was carried out by units of the Naval Special Forces Group of the Caribbean together with Coast Guard and Naval Aviation crew members of the Colombian Navy, who traveled to a rural area at the mouth of the Magdalena River, where they found an illegal hiding place that was used by drug trafficking organizations for the storage of narcotic substances.
When conducting a thorough search of this place, four sacks with 120 rectangular packages were found by troops hidden underground, which were subject to Preliminary Identification Test leaving positive result for 120 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The second result was reported in the vicinity of a port facility in Barranquilla, at the time when Coast Guard units were carrying out patrol, surveillance and river control activities, finding an abandoned rudimentary ship in which a sack with 34 packages was found, the substance of which was submitted to the PIPH establishing that it was 34 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
The decisive operation of the Caribbean Naval Force prevented five million dollars from entering the finances of drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in the Colombian Caribbean. In the same way, 385 thousand doses of cocaine were stopped from being marketed and distributed on the international illegal market. No arrests were made during the operations. The material was put into custody of the authorities.
