Within the framework of the Ayacucho Plan of Colombian National Army, troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 28 Colombia of the Thirteenth Brigade, in a joint operation against drug trafficking with the Colombian Aerospace Force and interagency with the Attorney General of the Nation, in the last few hours arrested five members of an organized crime group at the service of drug trafficking.
As part of the Olimpo military stability operation that is being carried out in the municipality of Valle de San Juan, Tolima, Colombian National Army units arrested four men and one woman who was injured during the operation, who was stabilized by military rescuers in the area and evacuated in a helicopter of the Air Combat Command No. 4 to the city of Ibague, where she was transferred by members of the Military Forces of the Sixth Brigade to a specialized medical center.
At the scene of the events, 3 traumatic weapons, a telecommunications radio, 2 kilos of cocaine hydrochloride, elements for its commercialization, a hideout for the storage of narcotics and abundant materials of military accessories such as uniforms for exclusive use of the Military Forces and the National Police were found by troops.
Those arrested and the material found were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office.
With this military operation, the organization and finances of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the center of the country are hit and the commitment of the troops of the Fifth Division of Colombian National Army with the security of the inhabitants of Tolima and Cundinamarca is reaffirmed.
