Currently, the National Army intervenes with humanitarian demining the municipalities of Pradera and Florida.
Valle del Cauca. The municipality of Pradera, Valle del Cauca, today has two areas free of antipersonnel mines that were decontaminated in an arduous six-month manual demining work by soldiers of the Humanitarian Demining Engineers Battalion No. 6.
There are more than 12,700 square meters of cleared terrains, where an explosive device was found and destroyed in the upper part of the municipality, near the Las Hermosas Natural National Park, route where hundreds of tourists and High Mountain sportsmen constantly walk, enjoy the beautiful landscapes and natural wonders that this part of the department provides to human being.
The presentation of these zones, full of tranquility the about 20 inhabitants of the area who can use their lands without fear of being victims of antipersonnel mines.
To date, this Humanitarian Demining Unit has managed to clear 91.279 square meters by manual demining in this department.
