The operation maintained by the National Navy in the Colombian Pacific against the drug trafficking organizations, led in recent hours to find 1,485 kilograms of marijuana, when it was being transported in two boats that sailed in the area of the municipality of López de Micay in the Department of Cauca.
In fluvial control operations in the sector of Noanamito, the units of the Pacific Naval Force guided by intelligence information, found two suspicious ships that apparently transported alkaloids.
The crew of the boats when noticing the presence of the military personnel of the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2, took the boat to the beach and abandoned them.
During the inspection of the boats, the military found 50 bags containing 1,500 packages, apparently of alkaloids. The cache and boats were transferred to the municipality of Guapi, where the judicial authorities conducted the Initial Preliminary Test, which gave positive result for 1485 kilograms marijuana.
The marijuana that would cost more than 22 million pesos in the international market, apparently would be transported to Central America on board these ships at the service of drug trafficking.
