So far this year, the Pacific Naval Force has found about 35 tons of alkaloids, preventing drug trafficking organizations from receiving more than a billion dollars as a result of the sale in the international illegal market.
In the frame of the frontal fight held by the Colombian National Navy in the Pacific, against drug trafficking organizations, combined operations were carried out with the Navies of the United States, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Mexico and Panama, within maritime interdiction agreement and cooperation agreements, which led to finding 5.7 tons of alkaloids, so far this April.
Through naval intelligence and with the participation of surface units of the Pacific Naval Force, together with ships of the United States and different countries of Central America, it was possible to intercept seven speedboats and a low profile boat, which were being manned by 20 drug traffickers that transported 5.7 tons of cocaine hydrochloride.
The crew of the ships of different nationalities such as Colombians, Ecuadorians, Guatemalans, Mexicans, among others, and the alkaloid, were put into custody of the authorities of the United States.
This joint work strengthens the effectiveness of the combined operations, so that the Pacific becomes a safer area, preventing it from being used for illegal activities.
So far this year, about 35 tons of cocaine hydrochloride have been found in the Pacific, on board ships that left Colombia for Central America and the United States. With these blows to drug trafficking organizations, their financial structures have stopped receiving more than a billion dollars.
