Cauca The focus of the military operations carried out by the troops of the Ninth Brigade in the departments of Huila, Cauca and Caquetá, is fighting drug trafficking, common criminality, transportation methods and financing.
This time, in the hamlet Alto del Carmen, municipality of Belarcazar, Cauca, the troops of the Infantry Battalion No. 26 'Cacique Pigoanza' carried out the manual eradication of nearly 20 thousand coca plants in a total area of 2 hectares, which would be for the finances of the residual Organized Armed Groups that commit crimes in that Department.
Three illicit plantations in the sector were eradicated by the military, which, in addition to the blow dealt to this criminal group, recovered hectares of forest that were being destroyed to carry out this illegal practice.
In the same way, the Military Unit found and destroyed a seedbed of coca bushes in another sector of the Itaibe, in the same municipality, destroying nearly three thousand illegal plants that would have been processed by the illegal structure.
