With the presence of the Minister of Defense, Guillermo Botero Nieto, the General Commander of the Military Forces, Major General Luis Fernando Navarro Jiménez, the commanders of the Army, the Navy, the Colombian Air Force and the Government authorities of the municipalities of the departments of Sucre and Bolívar, which are part of the Montes de María region, this activity took place whose central theme was the inter-institutional coordination to deal with the problems that disturb law and order, associated with violence and citizen insecurity.
In the same way, topics of special interest were explored, such as the protection of social leaders and their classification of social leaders in Colombia, as well as figures of the National Protection Unit, strategies to combat cattle rustling, the implementation of the toll-free line 167 and the comprehensive investment of the State in strategic areas.
During this space the Mayors and Secretaries of Government of Montes de María, openly thanked the Navy of Colombia, led by Vice Admiral Evelio Enrique Ramírez Gáfaro for the current operations in matters of security, Land Restitution and the tireless task of Humanitarian Demining, which seeks to erase the traces of armed conflict in the region.
For its part, the Marine Infantry Battalion No.13 ordered a special operation to reinforce the safety of this municipality to guarantee the normal development of the Regional Security Council 'Montes de María'.
