Within the framework of regional cooperation, a delegation of the Ecuadorian Air Force, led by Brigadier General Mauricio Salazar, arrived in Puerto Salgar, Cundinamarca, in order to learn about the strategic resources and the military operation of the Colombian Air Force. The visit focused on strengthening ties and generating new alliances that contribute to security in the hemisphere.
Air Combat Command No. 1, CACOM 1, showed its air superiority resources, essential to work for the sovereignty and control of airspace. These skills are vital for the fight against transnational threats, such as drug trafficking, by leading a rapid response and deployment in interception and surveillance missions.
During the meeting, the services of the International Aviation School were presented, which has established itself as a benchmark in the region for the training of pilots and crews of various Latin American air forces. The institution is positioned as a space for learning and exchange of experiences, contributing to the professionalization of military aviation on the continent.
This visit reaffirms the commitment of both air forces to face common challenges and promote peace and security in the region, highlighting the key role of international cooperation to combat problems such as drug trafficking, illegal mining and other transnational crimes that threaten hemispheric stability. At the same time, it strengthens joint resources in defense operations, aerial surveillance and humanitarian assistance, consolidating both forces as key actors in regional security.
