Chocó. The operation of the National Navy in the Colombian Pacific led to the discovery of two illegal hideouts, one with alkaloids and the other with weapons, in the department of Chocó. These hideouts belonged to the gang "Clan del Golfo" and Eln, respectively.
In a jungle area of the sector known as Punta Piña, an illegal hideout was found and inside two bags with 50 packages apparently of illicit substance, were found. The content was taken of the area and transported to the facilities of the 23rd Marine Infantry Battalion in Bahía Solano - Chocó, where it was confirmed to be 50 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride.
Continuing with the operations in this department, the troops found in the Terrón sector, in the municipality of Bajo Baudó, another illegal hideout with weapons of the Front Resistencia Cimarrón of the Eln, which contained an AK-47 rifle, three AK-47 magazines and 0.62 grams of marijuana. The material was put into custody of the authorities.
So far this year, the Pacific Naval Force has found more than 18 tons of cocaine hydrochloride, preventing 610 million dollars from entering the drug trafficking organizations that commit crimes in this region of the country.
In the same way, 87 long and short range weapons have been found, about 8,800 ammunitions of different calibers, more than 80 grenades and 16 explosive devices, with which organized armed groups intended to attack on the civilian population and the Military Forces.
