These individuals were responsible for contaminating the different containers with at least 400 kilograms of alkaloids per month.
In a coordinated operation conducted by the National Navy and the Attorney General of the Nation, the simultaneous capture of four alleged members of an organization at the service of drug trafficking that had perpetrated, for more than three years, the contamination of containers with illicit substances, was carried out in the port facilities of Buenaventura, in the department of Valle del Cauca.
The captures were made simultaneously in the neighborhoods Los Pinos, Nuevo Oriente and in the center of the municipality Buenaventura, where the individuals had left their places of residence. These individuals, who had an arrest warrant, for the crime of aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes and manufacture, traffic or possession of narcotics, were in charge of establishing security coordination and logistics, to enter the narcotics to the port facilities, which were subsequently transported in containers towards countries in Central America, or Mexico and Europe.
More than a year ago, the Naval Force of the Pacific through the Marine Infantry Brigade No.2 together with the Attorney General's Office and its delegated group against organized crime, carried out a detailed follow-up to this criminal group, which committed a crime in the main port of Colombia; this group would have trafficked at least 400 kilograms of alkaloids into the containers per month.
These individual were put into custody of the Attorney General's Office to be prosecuted for the several crimes.
