In joint, coordinated and interagency operations with the National Army, the National Police, and the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Prosecutor's Office, units of the National Navy dismantle the most important support network of the Organized Armed Group - Residual Structure Primera (GAO) r), in the department of Guaviare.
Military operations conducted for about three months, led to the capture of the six members of this network of support for residual structures, which exercised criminal control over the fluvial routes and the municipalities of San José del Guaviare, El Retorno and Calamar (Guaviare), through criminal operations that hit the population, free navigation and commerce on the tributaries of the departments of Guaviare and Guainía.
The individuals alias 'Rigo', 'Nadin', 'Cocuyo', 'Capuyo', 'La Flaca' and 'Chamizo'; Chamizo was ringleader of the support network. All of them were required with current arrest warrants by the specialized Public Prosecutor's Office 114 of Villavicencio, for the crimes of extortion; homicide; aggravated conspiracy; terrorism; use, production and storage of anti-personnel mines; transport and storage of illicit substances.
With the dismantling of this Network of Support for Residual Structures, it is possible to give a heavy blow to the subsystem of finances of this residual organization, and alias 'Iván Mordisco' won’t be able to project extortions, forced disappearances and attacks against the Security forces and the civilian population.
The National Navy ratifies its commitment to the safety and protection of the communication lines and fluvial infrastructure of the Nation. At the same time a significant blow is dealt to the capacity and illegal dynamics of the financial structures of Residual Armed Groups.
