The General Maritime Directorate (Dimar), through the Pacific Maritime Signaling Group (SEMAP), initiated the Southern and Insular Group of Navigation Aids Maintenance of the Colombian South Pacific that is carried out along the Coast.
This group includes the maintenance of approximately 50 navigation aids, including floating aids such as buoys and fixed aids, lighthouses, beacons and enfilades.
To date, the maintenance of the aids has been carried out in the Mouths of Timbiqu铆, Guapi, Baz谩n, Sanquianga and Amarales, thus working for the safe entry of fishermen and other people, to the coastal communities of the region.
Once this phase is completed, the maintenance of the aids in Cabo Manglares and the Tumaco access channel, in the department of Nari帽o, will be conducted. It should be noted that one of the missions of this group is the restoration of the Nuqu铆 Lighthouse, in the Choc贸 Pacific region, which has a height of 30 meters and a useful life of more than 20 years.
