During different military control operations, carried out by the Colombian Navy jointly and in coordination with the Army and the National Police, 12,129 gallons of fuel and more than 110 tons of gray cement were found by troops on the Atrato and Magdalena rivers.
In the first operation, carried out by troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 17, in the vicinity of the municipality of La Gloria - Cesar, 780 gallons of Diesel and 1,980 gallons of gasoline were found by troops, which were being transported in several vehicles by land.
On the other hand, in the waters of the Atrato River, near the municipality of Bellavista - department of Chocó, through a river operation carried out by troops of the Navy Infantry River Battalion No. 16, 1,200 gallons of diesel were found by troops, at the time they were being transported aboard two wooden boats.
Finally, in the Pinillos, department of Bolívar, on the banks of the Magdalena River, 8,169 gallons of diesel and 110,500 kilograms of cement were found by troops when they were being transported aboard four boats.
During the inspections carried out on the boats and vehicles, their crew members did not present the documentation sought for the transport of this type of elements, so the material was confiscated and put into custody of the authorities in these municipalities. No arrests were made as part of these operations.
