In the course of the operation, an alleged member of the Pablo Jos茅 Montalvo Cuitiva substructure of this organized armed group was arrested.
Troops of the Joint Task Force Titan, in joint military operations with the Colombian Air Force and the National Navy, obtained the finding of a house that would be used by the Organized Armed Group, GAO, Clan del Golfo as an illegal hiding place and clandestine factory for the elaboration of explosive devices and anti-personnel mines, in the Truand贸 River sector, in the municipality of Riosucio, department of Choc贸.
There were two individuals in this place, who fled when they noticed the work of the soldiers. Immediately, the anti-explosive personnel carried out a thorough inspection of the land, complying with the security protocols, to subsequently destroy in controlled conditions an improvised explosive device (with characteristics similar to a balloon, loaded with approximately 20 kilograms of explosives), a 40-kilo cylinder in the same way equipped with powerful explosives and 3 anti-personnel mines, which were under a house, putting at risk the good physical condition of the people of this sector.
In the same place, 24 antipersonnel mines were found by troops ready for use, 150 nonelectric detonators, 50 meters of detonating cord, 100 initiators for the activation of antipersonnel mines, an AK-47 rifle barrel, 20 kilograms of Anfo and abundant material for the manufacture of explosive devices.
According to the information provided by the military unit's explosives experts, 200 or 300 improvised explosive devices and anti-personnel mines were produced in this factory every week, which were used to carry out terrorist operations against civilians and the Military Forces. It should be noted that before arriving at the site, the troops arrested an individual, alleged member of this organized armed group, who was put into custody of the authority.
