After a security council held in Yopal, the head of the Defense, Holmes Trujillo announced a series of commitments to maintain the safety and tranquility of Casanare.
“The commitment of the Security forces to maintain the security and tranquility of the inhabitants of Casanare reflects the political will of the Government of President Iván Duque in favor of the security of the department. In this regard, the operation against the ELN and the residual Organized Armed Group Structure 28 continues,”said the Minister.
On the other hand, the Army and the Police will maintain control operations on the national road ‘La Marginal de la Selva’ and “the results of the operation plans on this important road will be reviewed monthly.”
During the Security Council, the importance of designing and implementing a Special intervention Plan coordinated and conducted by the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and the National Police was reviewed to combat the crime of extortion, “in which all security guarantees are provided for those who provide information. These operations will be coordinated with the Office of the Attorney General of the Nation, the Government and the mayors of the department ”.
The minister in the same way said that, “In the next few days, the National Police will make a comprehensive intervention with units of the DIJIN, the Police and the Fiscal and Customs Police, in coordination with the National Army, to combat theft of farm animal and smuggling of them in the most hit areas of Casanare ”.
Finally, Trujillo said that the National Police will honor the commitments of the Security Council made in Paz de Ariporo on June 14, 2019, related to the distribution and optimization of the military units in Yopal. "The instruction is to give priority to the coverage of police quadrants in the city, based on the permanent support of the three groups of the staff and specialties throughout the department," he said.
