After security council in Arauca, led by the president, Iván Duque, the minister of Defence, Diego Molano, has reiterated the commitment of the National Government in matters of security to the department of Arauca, establishing four basic operations, such as strengthening the number of units, safety routes, roads and waterways, decisive operations against crimes, high impact, projects and infrastructure strengthening for military and police.
“Seven hundred men of the special operations groups will be in operations until they arrest and dismantle the dissidents of the Farc and the Eln, rewards have been offered to arrest alias Pajaro, Pescado and Culebro, who are responsible for the recent confrontations that hit this department,” said the Minister.
Secondly, Minister Molano explained that a special operation is ongoing for the protection of roads of the department, with a new operation Meteoro Unit.
In the same way, troops have conducted operations against the theft of farm animals and extortion, “this week, a special group of the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) and Gaula of the Police will be running a special program for working with livestock merchants, and, in addition, more than 93 processes of denunciations for theft of farm animals in the department will be prioritized,” said Molano.
Finally, the head of the ministry of Defence, announced the strengthening of the infrastructure for the Military Forces “more than 13 billion pesos will be invested within the program Areas Futuro, in addition to the acquisition of two boats, additional to the four recently provided today for operations in the Arauca River”, he said.
