Twelve members of the fifth group were neutralized.
A joint and coordinated operation by troops of the Army's fifth and third divisions, the Colombian Air Force, with the support of the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, led to deal a severe blow that today decimates the criminal organization.
Among those arrested there is alias Rodrigo, the main ringleader of the group, who is allegedly responsible for homicides perpetrated in these departments.
During a joint and coordinated operation conducted by units of the ninth Brigade and the specific command of Cauca, a Rapid Deployment Force of the National Army, the Air Force, the National Police and the Attorney General's office, it was possible to dismantle the fifth group of the residual organized armed group, Gao-r, Dagoberto Ramos, and it was possible to neutralize in military operations the second ringleader of the network of support to residual structures, the arrest of eight of its members, including the ringleader of the aforementioned group, the recovery of two minors, and the surrender to justice of a member of the organization.
The offences for which members are prosecuted include association to commit aggravated offences, aggravated homicide, trafficking, manufacturing or carrying firearms, terrorism, extortion and aggravated and aggravated theft.
The damage to the group began with the death in military operations of alias Loco Milciades, who was the second ringleader of the network to support the residual structures and had become one of the men most wanted by the authorities, after leading criminal operations in order to strengthen the financial scaffolding of the residual Gao Dagoberto Ramos.
The loss of Milciades led the illegal armed structure to increase operations to try to position its fifth group in Huila; however, the permanent work of intelligence and monitoring, not only led to thwart their plans, but ended by dismantling that group.
In rural areas of the municipalities of La Plata, Huila and Páez Belálcazar, Cauca, eight individuals were arrested, including alias Rodrigo, who is said to be the main ringleader of the group, and is said to be involved in the recent collective homicides in Inzá, Cauca, and La Plata, Huila. He would also be allegedly responsible for the burning of yellow vehicles and machinery to intimidate and pressure the payment of extortion as well as the theft of vehicles of two distribution companies.
This group is in the same way responsible for the kidnapping of two employees of the company Interdes, for conducting criminal intelligence against the Military Forces, supplying food and weapons, distributing brochures in the name of the criminal structure, attacking police stations and recruiting minors.
These individuals since 2020, with a seat in Cauca, had a house in the municipality of Irlanda La Plata where they hid sporadically to carry out criminal missions and then flee again to the neighboring department.
During operations, it was possible to find 5 assault rifles, various weapons to the accompaniment, 1 machinegun Mini Uzi, 8 rifles, 50 thousand non electric detonators rom Peru, 13 explosive devices, 17 launching pads of unconventional explosives, 4 grenades, a communications radio, 29 magazines, 2.204 units of ammunition of different calibers, 3 bracelets and badges related to the mobile column, Dagoberto Ramos, pamphlets of the Farc-EP, and 1 motorcycle was recovered, similarly, 21.6 tons of Creepy marijuana were seized, which harms the illicit activities of this residual GAO by more than $ 21,809,426,5106 COP.
After the preliminary hearings, the detainees were held in prison.
It is an important blow that once again neutralizes the plans of the residual structures and their intentions of expansion, weakening the number of men and in its political and financial parts. However, the most significant achievement is the neutralization of operations against Military Forces and civilians.
In other operations carried out by the military, through military intelligence, search and control work on the coffee Highway, in the sector known as Las Pavas, on the road that connects Manizales with Chinchiná, Caldas, the military found 380 kilograms of marijuana that were being transported in a vehicle. This drug would cost close to 1,150 million pesos and would be distributed in more than 38,000 doses of 10 grams each.
According to the information provided, the narcotic was travelling from the Department of Cauca to the intermediate cities and the capital city of the country. In this event, the arrest of a man of the group of alias Jhoncito, of the GAO-r, and the immobilization of the car were reported.
The threat of Milciades Olaya Yasno, alias Loco Milciades was neutralized in military operation; he served as the second ringleader of the support network for the residual structures.
In the operation an adult was captured and today is conducting its process to benefit of the program provided by the National Government, while the two minors who were recovered were put into custody of the authority for the restoration of their rights.
