Alias Ecuatoriano or Indio and alias Marduth, accused of being members of the finance group of the networks of support to the residual Organized Armed Group, GAO-r, of the Jorge Briceño Suárez structure, were arrested in compliance with the search warrants issued by the Municipal Court of El Calvario, in the department of Meta.
The successful operation was a joint, coordinated and inter-agency working conducted by the National Army, the Colombian Air Force, the office of the Prosecutor General of the Nation, and the National Police, in the sectors of San Juan de Lozada, in the municipality of La Macarena, in the department of Meta, and in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán, in the department of Caquetá, with this result, it is possible to weaken the criminal groups that disrupt the peace in the departments of Meta, Caquetá, Nariño and the border with Ecuador.
The aforementioned individuals were apparently in charge of supplying this organization with military equipment for its strengthening; in the same way alias Marduth, the second individual arrested, is accused of being the right-hand man of alias Calarcá, the main ringleader of this gang for conducting criminal intelligence tasks as potential victims profiler for the collection of money from extortion.
The Prosecutor General of the Nation, indicted charges for the crimes of conspiracy to commit crimes, aggravated, manufacture, trafficking and possession of weapons for the exclusive use of the Military Forces, illegal use of uniforms and badges and, financing terrorism and organized crime groups.
It should be noted that this operation that led to the arrest of alias Indio contributes to the work carried out by the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol), which issued blue search notice to capture the individual for the crime of organization, association or criminal group, logistical support to terrorism, terrorist acts and trafficking in ammunition, components, firearms or explosives.
