In military operations carried out in the department of Arauca by troops of the National Army, in a coordinated and inter-institutional manner with the National Police and the Attorney General's Office, it was possible to deal a heavy blow to micro-trafficking and hit the finances of organized armed groups.
In accordance with the warrant issued by the authorities, units of the Eighteenth Brigade, the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI), SIJIN (JUDICIAL POLICE) and SIPOL, reached the area known as Playitas and Barrancones in the municipality of Arauca in order to capture eight individuals accused of selling psychoactive substances, which in the sea way provides money for the logistical support of organized armed groups.
Those captured, including five women and three men, had with them marijuana and communications equipment. These elements were put into custody of the authorities.
