In compliance with the Bicentenary plan Heroes de Libertad, the Joint Task Force for stabilization and consolidation Hercules, in a joint and inter-institutional military operation with the National Army, the National Navy, and the Attorney General's office, found and destroyed an illegal laboratory for the production of cocaine in the municipality of Chorrera De Curay, Tumaco district, in the department of Nariño, which had a monthly production capacity of four tons of narcotics.
Troops of the Anti-Drug Battalion No.4 of the National Army, units of the Navy Infantry Battalion No.40, and members of the technical investigation Corps -CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the prosecutor's Office, deployed in the area, where the logistics complex was found, achieving the finding of 3,814 kilograms of cocaine hydrochloride, 440 kilograms of coca base paste, 5,270 kilograms of solid precursors, 9,880 gallons of liquid precursors, and other precursors for the manufacture of narcotic drugs.
According to military intelligence information, this complex had the capacity to produce 4,000 kilograms of narcotics per month, which is equivalent to 10 million doses distributed in central and North American countries, harming the health of the inhabitants.
With this result, it is estimated that more than 20,950 million pesos will not enter the finances of the organized armed group, GAO, bloque Alfonso Cano, money that includes the cost of the illegal complex and the commercialization of the drug.
It is important to note that this criminal structure destroyed more than one hectare of mangrove that took more than 30 years to grow.
The laboratory and the precursors were destroyed in a controlled manner at the scene, under strict security regulations and keeping all the measures for the preservation of the environment, under the supervision of the CTI (Technical Investigations Corps) of the Attorney General's Office.
With this result, the financial structure of this criminal organization, which is responsible for homicides, criminal acts and confrontations with other structures of drug trafficking, is damaged.
